The teaching plan of task-based writing

Teaching background:

When dealing with the kind of writing, most of the students don’t know how to correctly and quickly grasp the most important points of the passage, which will lead to the loss of points. Moreover, they often use the simple sentences and words, which make the composition look so low.

Teaching aims:

1.      to know what kind of mistakes they made and what kind of composition is the best

2.      to grasp the main structure of the summary

3.      how to use the advanced words and complex sentences

4.      how to use the conjunctions to make the writing fluent

Teaching steps:

Step 1 presentation and assessment

In this part, the students will learn to make a judgment and find the strengths and weaknesses of others’ work.

Step2 questioning and discussing

1.      the students will learn to know different genre of the writing—narration and argumentation

2.      how to find the six elements and use the universal formula.

3.      how to reverse different words with the same meaning

4.      how to use complex sentences

5.      how to use the concise expression to shorten your summary

6.      how to use the conjunctions

Step 3  feedback

In this par,t the students will practice the skills they have learnt in the class to consolidate them.

Step 4 home work

Students will continue to practice to build up what they have learnt.
